Arrival and Dismissal Safety at Woodlands Elementary

The safety of our students and families during arrival and dismissal is always a top priority at Woodlands Elementary. As our school community continues to grow, it's important that we all do our part to keep these times safe and efficient for everyone.
The roads surrounding Woodlands are narrow and have limited sidewalks, so we ask families to take extra care when dropping off or picking up students. Please keep the following reminders in mind:
- After drop-off or pick-up, vehicles should follow the circle drive back to Erie Parkway to return to Cleveland Road.
- Walkers are encouraged to use the walkway connecting Maple Avenue with Catalpa Drive. Catalpa is a dead-end street, meaning car traffic is minimal and walking is much safer.
- If walking, please use designated crosswalks and encourage students to follow the safest possible route to and from school.
Bike, Scooter, and E-Bike Safety
For students who ride bikes, scooters, or e-bikes to school, safety and compliance with local laws are essential. Please review the following expectations:
- Lights: By law, all bikes and e-bikes must have a front white light and a rear red light or reflector when ridden during low-light conditions.
- Helmets: Students are strongly encouraged to wear a properly fitted helmet every time they ride.
- Single Rider Rule: For everyone's safety, only one rider per bike, scooter, or e-bike is permitted.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping make arrival and dismissal safe for all members of our school community. Together, we can ensure that Woodlands remains a safe and welcoming environment for our students and families every day.
